Just a fortnight left, and things are starting to take shape. A blurrier shape perhaps, but a shape nonetheless.
I’ve kicked off a thread on 8bitcollective to call for requests, so if you have something in mind, that’s where to announce it. This way, we’ll have a good idea of how much time we’ll need to put into it over the festival, as we’ll most likely be announcing sessions at specific times each day according to people’s availability.
Please read the caveats in the thread before you reply! Cheers :)
Eight weeks until Blipfest! Better start writing those wish-lists.
In a classic case of overenthusiastic jumping the gun, I’ve unilaterally decided (following some brief discussion between Akira and me, and thanks to a nomenclatorial suggestion from Random) to plan a sit-down copyswap/floppyswap effort at Blipfest in order to furnish all attendant Amiga luvverz with trackers, tools and demos that they might otherwise have had difficulty getting onto their systems - particularly A500s with no PCMCIA slots.
Or maybe people just want CF-PCMCIA drivers to get them started! We’re down with that. I’ll be doing customised, made-to-order runoffs of the famous HiScore SuperRescueDisk made by Lavaburn and myself back in the day.
I guess we could also just grab a table big enough for people to bring their Amigas along and have a bit of a nerd-off; try to fix problems, stuff like that. I also guess we’d better check with the organisers closer to the time. But there’s no harm in getting some enthusiasm going…
Working on getting the commenting system to come through the RSS feed…failing that, I’ll throw up a basic shoutbox thingy.
